While this is about 12 miles away, we go past about 3 times per week. Thus, no big deal.<br \/>\nThere are not exciting issues this year, in our State. Every few years we get to vote on keeping &#8220;stealth&#8221; taxes off of the car registration fee. This is one of those years. <\/p>\n<p>Anyway, our voting is an easy process. There is almost no fuss compared to some other states.  Some day all states will do it this way.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #FF0000;\">Item #2: Land on the move <\/span> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/18th-2-surprise.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"311\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9744\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/18th-2-surprise.jpg 290w, http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/18th-2-surprise-280x300.jpg 280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 290px) 85vw, 290px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A word common now in the news is <strong>unprecedented <\/strong>,  such as this:<br \/>\n<em> Major Southern California fault line eyed after study shows unprecedented movement<\/em>. See:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/science\/california-earthquake-movement-garlock-fault-ridgecrest-sequence\"><strong>Garlock Fault<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first line of the article is:<br \/>\n&#8220;<em>A major southern California fault capable of producing a magnitude 8 temblor started to move for the first time in 500 years following a series of earthquakes in the Mojave Desert over the summer, . . . <\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It has moved before, so perhaps &#8220;unprecedented&#8221; is not the correct word. Contest now closed.<\/p>\n<p>My home town of Clarion PA calls itself the Autumn Leaf Capital of the world. The 2019 festival (over now) was the 66th annual. I was there for the 1st.<br \/>\nNow it is a 9 day affair, internationally recognized, and sponsored by Allegheny Toyota.  Don&#8217;t know when Toyota got involved. This seems to be a car sales place in Franklin, a town 27 miles west of (and nothing to do with) Clarion.<br \/>\nSearch using images for &#8220;autumn colors leaves clarion_county&#8221; and you can view many colorful pictures \u2013 some from the area.<br \/>\nThe ones with the tall brick building, with clock, are of Clarion. We lived about 4 blocks (1\/3rd of a mile) from that building \u2013 the Court House. Our school was another 3rd of a mile away.<br \/>\nGoogle Earth will show where Clarion is, with the River to the east and north.
