In those old days, we often saw an unaccustomed rider on a poorly trained horse. The outcome was not always pretty or funny.<br \/>\nWe all agree:  We should have always had a sign like this at the field trials.<br \/>\nAnother idea (borrowed from some company&#8217;s ad):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We wish for you an exciting time<br \/>\nwith memorable experiences, but<br \/>\na trip to an emergency room<br \/>\nis not one of them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ve used this a few times when we go over the welcome and safety talk on Washington Trails work trips.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #FF0000;\">Item #4: What took them so long<\/span><br \/>\nThis is a nice story about the Perth Zoo in Western Australia.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2018-10-17\/120th-anniversary-of-the-perth-zoo-opening\/10379436\"><strong>Perth Zoo&#8217;s transformation<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nancy is from Atlanta and, after we met, she<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Willie-B.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"332\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7886\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Willie-B.jpg 263w, http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Willie-B-238x300.jpg 238w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 263px) 85vw, 263px\" \/><br \/>\ntook me to the Atlanta Zoo \u2013 or Zoo Atlanta, as it is called.  The Zoo&#8217;s web site has a history the indicates how the place went from &#8220;Worst to World Class&#8221;: here<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/zooatlanta.org\/about\/our-story\/history\/\"><strong> I met Willie B.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They have their history in 4 parts:<br \/>\n1889-1950 &#8211; The Early Days<br \/>\n1950-1984 &#8211; A Zoo Growing Up and the Arrival of Willie B.<br \/>\n1984-1999 &#8211; Turnaround: From Worse to World Class<br \/>\n1999-present &#8211; Pandas to Present<\/p>\n<p>This is Perth Zoo&#8217;s 120 anniversary. One of them began learning to play drums.  After the bus dropped him off about 4 PM, the sound of drums filled the air on the Naneum Fan. There are intervening woods, so we can&#8217;t see the house, but the trees don&#8217;t stop the sound.
