I have a light blue hat, some call it a bucket-hat, others think of it as a fisherman \u2013 or a fisherwoman\u2019s hat, such as this:\"\"Mine is blue and has an artificial Poppy added to its d\u00e9cor. This is called a Remembrance Poppy. LINK<\/strong><\/a>
\nLocal Veterans groups set up in the foyer of our usual grocery store and seek donations and have several items to give away. I usually give $5 and, once the poppy is on the hat, doubles its value. I sometimes have to get a new one, but 2016\u2019s was in excellent shape, so for 2017 I gave another $5. They told me I just saved them 6\u00a2. \"\"I like the style of the USA poppies better than the ones the Brits use.

Why do people wear poppies?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Ours have a tag that labels them “Buddy Poppy” and the phrase
\n “Wear it proudly.”
