{"id":321,"date":"2010-02-07T10:23:17","date_gmt":"2010-02-07T17:23:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/hultquist\/?p=321"},"modified":"2010-02-07T10:23:17","modified_gmt":"2010-02-07T17:23:17","slug":"sat-sunday-routine-functions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/?p=321","title":{"rendered":"SAT-SUNDAY   &#8212;  routine functions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday was a routine day, for a weekend.\u00a0 There was some good food, some not so good food, and several visitors.\u00a0 Nancy stayed in bed resting from her workout on Friday but she did \u2013 she claims \u2013 do some in-bed exercises.\u00a0 I made her promise to get the Sunday morning staff to get her out of bed.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday AM, and she did get moving this morning.\u00a0 She was assisted into the bathroom (there is no bath there!\u00a0 Do I call it a throne room? \u00a0[See below.] ), then into a wheelchair, and now she is having breakfast.\u00a0 She was talking with me when they brought her tray.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, with help, \u00a0I located that aisle and shelf in our friendly grocery store whereon they stash the nutritional drinks often marketed to diabetics.\u00a0 There are several brand names but I wanted chocolate with high protein and as EBRG is a relatively small town I had a choice of one.\u00a0 The package contains 6 \u2013 8 oz. plastic mugs ($1.62 each) of a brown liquid composed of water, sugar, and about 74 other things listed in print too small to read by those of us that remember Bill Mazeroski\u2019s series winning home run in game 7 of the 1960 World Series of Baseball (Pirates over Yankees).\u00a0 Half of the selection was \u2018high calcium\u2019 and half was \u2018high protein\u2019.\u00a0 Nancy is improving daily but frequently is disdainful of that part of her meals meant to supply protein.\u00a0 The supplement I bought contains 12 grams of protein (about 24%) of the suggested part of a standard 2,000 calorie per day diet.<\/p>\n<p>Having related the above I will say that as she has begun to move about more it appears to me that she is also eating more and otherwise improving.\u00a0 Thus, I was very happy to hear this morning that she had used the bathroom and was in the wheelchair by breakfast time.<\/p>\n<p>[About that term bathroom:\u00a0 What she actually was in need of was a <em>flush toilet<\/em>.\u00a0 Have you ever called the place a flush toilet room?\u00a0 Me neither.
