That&#8217;s the clue. There is more than I care to know <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Friday_the_13th\"><strong> on Wikipedia<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\ntriskaidekaphobia \u2192 fear of the number;<br \/>\nparaskevidekatriaphobia \u2192 fear of the day<\/p>\n<p>Additional information is found on the &#8220;History dot com&#8221; site [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/folklore\/friday-the-13th\"><strong> Here. <\/strong><\/a>]<br \/>\nNew to me {poor education, I guess} is the complimentary notion that the number &#8217;12&#8217; is associated with the concept of completeness.<br \/>\nAfter looking at numerous web pages regarding historical notions of numbers, it seems that the ancient folks used Jupiter&#8217;s approximately 12 (11.86) year orbit of the Sun to construct much mythology and a bit of mathematics.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jupiter#Mythology\"><strong> Babylonian&#8217;s Marduk<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThis seems to have been in existence 1,000 \u2013 2,000 years before the time of Jesus and the Bible, or the Northern European links sometimes cited.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #FF0000;\">Item #2:  Ponds are for skipping rocks <\/span> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/rocknponderosa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/B-Nov-13th-Hole-in-One.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"159\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-11507\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Have you ever skipped rocks on a pond?<br \/>\nHave you ever tried it with a golf ball?  Me neither.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/jon-rahm-skips-golf-ball-over-water-nails-impressive-hole-in-one-ahead-of-masters\"><strong> Hole in one! <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many have seen this story and watched the video. If you haven&#8217;t, give it a look.<br \/>\nBeing the week of Veteran&#8217;s Day, the golf feat made me think of the &#8220;bouncing bombs&#8221; of Operation Chastise, an attack on German dams carried out on 16\u201317 May 1943. Investigation showed the person was dead hours before the accident. Ohio is a place of many strange happenings. At that time Cincy was a smallish big town, the center just 2 miles from the University, near which we each lived.<br \/>\nWe often went downtown, and many other places, but I don&#8217;t remember Fountain Square. Development began in 1997 at Washington State University with the name WA38.<br \/>\nIt is mostly bright red with small &#8220;star-like&#8221; spots, and someone thought it looked like the night sky.<br \/>\nThus, use of &#8220;cosmic&#8221;, but less fathomable the logo is mostly white with red spots  &#8211; &#8211; if that represents the night sky to anyone, they are on a different planet.<br \/>\nWe&#8217;ll sample one today. Unnamed folks were driving past their neighbor&#8217;s orchard {they are all friends} from which they harvested a few. We ended up with one.<br \/>\nThey are selling in specialty shops for $4.99 per pound. That seems like $5 to me, but I guess there is a rationale for the lack of a \u00a2. A large apple can weigh a pound so purchase cautiously and enjoy.<\/p>\n<p> _ * _ * _ * _ * _<br \/>\nSnow falling on Washington&#8217;s mountains. Some visible on the hills a few miles north and 2,000 feet above our location on the Fan.
